Our specialist Acoustics Team works on projects throughout the UK and internationally, from their bases in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, Dubai, Melbourne and Hong Kong. The team provide consultancy services to clients both independently and as part of a co-ordinated multi-disciplinary offering. They work on projects large and small, across a variety of sectors. Established in 2010, the team has gone from strength to strength, and is now represented regularly at industry events, providing thought leadership within the industry.
Further to continuing success and growth, the team is now ready to add a Graduate Consultant to the team.
You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and with professional development programmes you will be supported towards IOA Membership and Chartership in due course.
We are looking for a Graduate Acoustics Consultant to join our Birmingham team. You will be an integral part of the local team in addition to contributing to the wider global team. You will get to work on a diverse range of projects, from small planning applications up to flagship commercial projects. Your responsibilities will include planning and undertaking acoustic surveys at locations throughout Birmingham, data analysis, calculations, computer simulation, marking-up of architectural drawings, and report writing. You must be enthusiastic and comfortable working in a team.
Attendance and input at design meetings and providing clear advice to clients, architects and engineers (internal and external) on design issues relating to acoustics, noise and vibration will be crucial.
The technical duties will comprise preparing acoustic design specifications which includes liaising with clients, calculations and processing of results, interpretation of data, computer modelling, together with production of reports, drawings, figures and tables. The role will also include regular site visits, carrying out site inspections, surveys and acoustic testing which may sometimes take place during evenings and weekends.
