Sustainability runs through everything we do at Cundall, and our people are empowered to drive change and decarbonise the built environment. By the end of this decade, we have set ourselves an ambitious goal to only work on projects that meet our zero carbon design criteria, a commitment we have called our Zero Carbon Design 2030 goal. We need engineers who share this passion for sustainability and thrive in designing energy efficient buildings and communities.

Cundall is a multi-disciplinary consultancy, offering a wide variety of engineering and sustainability services, together with complementary specialisms, from locations across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, the Middle East and North Africa. Our growing Design Management Function is integral to the successful delivery of large complex projects across many industry sectors.

Cundall’s multidisciplinary design teams are a source of world leading expertise - and offer a pro-active and collaborative approach to skill development, and professional experience.

As part of the development of its APAC business, and overall global growth, Cundall are excited to announce that we are entering into the Malaysian market in Kuala Lumpur. Cundall have been working on various projects in Malaysia from our offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia so this is the natural progression for the business, building on long standing relationships and offering the same high standard of multidisciplinary design and consultancy services.

Our Malaysia office will enhance our regional presence in Asia, taking on exciting projects locally while also collaborating closely with our regional offices to provide seamless support.

The Role You'll Play

In this graduate role, you will join our APAC Structural Engineering team, based in Kuala Lumpur to work on some of the most exciting projects across Asia and internationally. Working closely with colleagues across our multi-disciplinary practice, you will provide specialist consultancy input on projects across a wide range of sectors.

Join us as a Graduate Structural Engineer and you will work with and be guided by a team of expert engineers to carry out structural engineering design and analysis, using your maths, science, and problem-solving skills to design inspirational and sustainable structures and more.

This role will require you to use your knowledge and expertise to define and translate the Clients’ needs into designs for buildings and infrastructure with sustainability at the forefront of the design.

You will have the opportunity over time to assume greater levels of responsibility and autonomy as your professional skills develop, and with accredited professional development programmes from The Board of Engineers Malaysia, The Institution of Structural Engineers, The Institution of Civil Engineers or other relevant professional institutions, you will be supported towards Chartership / Professional Registration.

The Skills You'll Bring

Accredited to BEng / MEng degree level (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering, you have a keen interest in structural design and analysis for the built environment, and crucially - have a passion for creative and intuitive design.

Possessing a desire for personal and professional development, you have the proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Computational Design and Digital Engineering is a big focus at our team, so ideally, you will have an understanding of Parametric Modelling Techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo), or at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB).

You are organised and methodical in your approach to managing your tasks and priorities, striving to meet deadlines.

Collaborative in nature, you will be able to empathise with the Clients’ needs and utilise excellent communication skills, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders. You are used to using your initiative to overcome challenges and have a positive, can-do attitude.

What’s in it for you?

We offer a competitive starting salary which grows as you develop, as well as many training and development opportunities to make sure you keep progressing.
